Expedia is a brand defined by joy, adventure, inspiration, and life. It is far more than a booking platform: it is a catalyst for exploration and human connection. Expedia gives us the opportunity to dream in ways we never imagined. It allows us to travel in ways we never thought possible. And it allows us to create transformational stories we’d never thought we’d share. Above all, Expedia is the spark of inspiration we all need and their brand color, Expedia Yellow, represents the burst of energy they seek to give to people every single day.
Passion Passport, in collaboration with Expedia, provided four creative storytellers with the trip of a lifetime to a mixture of both domestic and international destinations. Each storyteller documented their journey on the ground as they explored what yellow means to them throughout their chosen destination. Whether the color represented courage, adventure, creativity, or healing, each storyteller focused on capturing their adventure “in search of yellow.”
I served as Producer and Photographer for the entire production. Throughout the campaign, I sourced and negotiated contracts with each influencer, sourced videographer, developed itinerary and creative concepts alongside influencer, led production on-location for 5-9 day productions, managed post-production and entire campaign roll-out across Expedia, Passion Passport and influencers' social channels.

Finding Strength in Slow Travel with @Yellowillow
Anne McIsaac is a photo artist and art director from Montreal, who claimed the Instagram handle @yellowillow back in 2015 as a tribute to the joy and curiosity of life that she associates with the color yellow. “It means agency, and the chance to shape my own journey.” She believes that the time she’s spent on road trips chasing the warm yellow tones of sunset and sunrise has given her ownership over how she faces challenges in life, particularly when learning how to navigate a Parkinson’s diagnosis. Resisting the temptation to withdraw from her life out of fear, she remained inspired by the beauty and healing power of nature — a constant force to which many of us are turning for reassurance in 2020.

Finding Healing in Kauai with @RuthieLindsey
Ruthie Lindsey is the author of her forthcoming memoir There I Am, The Journey From Hopelessness To Healing, as well as a Nashville-based speaker, and cohost of the Unspoken podcast.
Ruthie shares a remarkable story of surviving an accident where she had a five percent chance to live and a one percent chance to walk as a teenager and the surgery that simultaneously saved and destroyed her body. As a young woman, chronic pain slowly pulled Ruthie away from everything she once held dear: her marriage, her faith, her family, her body, her very self. But her message is one of strength and resilience, the faith she lost and rebuilt in herself, and the power of sharing our stories. Ruthie challenges audiences to find the healing that is inside of all of us. She has spoken alongside renowned activists and writers such as Brené Brown, Glennon Doyle, Rachel Hollis and Sophia Bush.

Finding Solemnity in Japan with @MichaelGeorge
Michael George is a freelance photographer, writer, and self-avowed people person based in Brooklyn, New York. Through travels that have taken him all over the world both for a personal love of understanding our shared humanity and on assignment for an impressive list of publications, he has maintained a child-like sense of optimism that fuels all his experiences. When Expedia and our team invited Michael on a trip to Japan, he had the chance to enrich his budding love for the country and its culture through new experiences that empowered his work in creative travel and inspired him to learn more about himself, his passions, and how certain colors and aesthetics related to his craft.

Finding Creative Inspiration in Barcelona with @Demas
Designer and photographer Demas Rusli (@demas) was once skeptical about solo travel. Living in Australia and working in an architecture firm, his enthusiasm and curiosity about use of color and space were his main sources of inspiration. He didn’t want to travel just to visit a place, or boast about his destination. When our partners at Expedia planned his trip to Barcelona, he discovered that there was another option: inhabiting the places we travel, and having them inhabit us. Even though he went solo, the warm and playful character of Barcelona both intrigued his eye for design and made him feel at home. All in all, it just inspired to keep Demas doing what he was doing, and stay on track — a message we could all use in this moment.
